Hi.
My name’s Judd, and I secretly detest "About" pages that talk about someone in the 3rd person even though it was written by them. I also hate it when website content uses words like "we" and "our" even though the company is only one person.
I’ll also freely admit that this website was guilty of both at one point or another.
Websites need to be organic and malleable things though, and you need to change them to match what you’re trying to do with your business. If you’re afraid of people being put off by the idea of a solo web person working from their home office, then you can run a smoke screen on your website and maybe land a few clients that way.
I believe in transparency though.
I don’t think there’s anything I should be doing for your website that you shouldn’t know every detail of. That’s not to say that I’ll tell you all of this without prompting, just that I’m happy to answer honestly any questions you might have.
As for my history in this business…
Jex Analytics was originally founded in early 2007, but I first started performing Search Engine Optimisation before it even had a name and "Google" was still a funny word.
Now, I’m a Google Expert and I’ve built my business around finding ways to use Google to improve yours.
Over 13 years in the web industry has taught me most of what I need to know at this point, but most importantly it’s taught me how much I have to keep up on, every day.
I live and breathe this stuff so you don’t have to.
I also pride myself on a narrow focus for my business. I am not a web designer, web developer or web content writer, though at times I have to do all of those things (and have done each professionally at some point).
"We must learn our limits. We are all something, but none of us are everything." -Blaise Pascal
I know what I’m an expert at and I know what I’m not.
If you need something I can’t do expertly, I definitely know someone who can.
